Steven Spielberg, the director of the first two, came up with the idea of Jurassic World while on the set of Jurassic Park III in 2001. In 2002, the fourth Jurassic World was released and scheduled for release in summer 2005.
After many delays and script rewrites, the release of 2005 was pushed to 2014, and eventually to 2015, Jurassic World had to go through a new decade of chaos to the big screen.
The delay that arises from creative personnel changes many times. Joe Johnston, director Jurassic Park III, does not want to accept the director's chair anymore. Johnston directed Captain America: The First Avenger of 2011.
Meanwhile, the fourth installment of the script has been circulating throughout Hollywood for a decade
According to The New York Times, many script writers have come up with a number of times. In January 2013, Jurassic World was officially announced in June 2014. That deadline for the project is more than a year to complete.
However, Colin Trevorrow, previously director of the famous independent film Safety Not Guaranteed, was invited to this frustrating work.
He was hired even before seeing the script to write something, and, when he saw it, he did not like it.
"I did not know what the movie was about," Trevorrow told The New York Times.
One of the early versions of the script was skipped by Wiliam Monahan (who won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Departed) and John Sayles (Lone Star).
This scenario is about a genetically modified DNA dinosaur from both dinosaurs and humans - the original inspiration for the hybrid dinosaur hybrid Indominus Rex that appeared in the Jurassic World. Back in 2007, Moriarty of the Is not It Cool News page read the script and described it as "
Dirty Dozen
The super-smart dinosaurs in the armor kill the drug dealers and save the kidnapped children. "
So Trevorrow and scriptwriter Derek Connolly made some edits for another scenario, this time written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Among their changes was the decision to broaden the idea of flying saucers and make them "look as real as possible," as Connolly told the Empire.
Spielberg, in the role of executive producer of Jurassic World (and interfering heavily with the whole process, though not at the studio), liked the new idea, but decided not to rush.
According to the article in The New York Times, Spielberg told Trevorrow to add another year, because "if we do it right, this movie will be very special."
Like the scriptwriter and the director, the cast also changed dramatically.
At times, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Richard Attenborough all were invited back to their roles in Jurassic Park for the fourth part, all three have confirmed the news.
When Attenborough died in 2014, it seemed Trevorrow wanted to try new things and break out of existing ideas. Trevorrow and Connolly decide that the best Jurassic World is not needing more Jurassic Park veterans to come back.
"I know a lot of 'fans' want to see the original characters back, they are monuments." Trevorrow said in an interview with IGN. "But I respect the actors so much that they can not fit their shoes into this story just because of their own feelings." Jurassic Park is not the story of three men being thrown into the same situation. The only reason they returned to the island was if the scriptwriter managed to get them back unblocked. "
However, B.D. Wong also returned to acting. Henry Wu.
It may take up to 10 years, but it seems that they will not be too bad for the cast, due to Chris Pratt. Following the overwhelming success of The LEGO Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt has become one of the biggest movie stars in the world. He teamed up with Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio (Daredevil), and Jake Johnson.
B.D. Wong is the only member of the original cast from Jurassic Park to return
